Will Social Security be there for me when I need it?

I worked for 15 years and had earned a $3500/month check from Uncle Sam as my projected Social Security retirement benefit. After 3 years off to raise my children, our country's most precious resource, I am projected to receive only $150/month from the gov't. I have paid thousands into a system that will not be there for me as a SAHM. I cannot and will not rely on Uncle Sam to pay my bills when I retire. What about you?
